What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a hands-on profession focused on improving people’s health and sense of wellbeing by striving to reduce the impact that stress has on the nervous system. Physical stress such as an overuse or acute injury puts extra demand on the nervous system in order to compensate for the injury and coordinate the recovery. Ultimately this additional demand can impact an individual’s potential perform well. Symptoms can include pain, stiffness, weakness and fatigue, poor coordination, balance issues, dizziness, mood changes, concentration difficulties, numbness, pins and needles and more. Our chiropractors at Turramurra Chiropractic consider all these symptoms and their potential causes in order to develop the right plan of action.
Your First Visit
Goal: understand the problem & develop a plan of action.
Our Turramurra chiropractors initially take a health history, complete a physical health examination, and may make use of diagnostic imaging to identify if chiropractic care is appropriate for you. This evaluation stage will help us as clinicians to determine how your care plan in the future will look. An adjustment may or may not be delivered on your first visit, this may depend on the need for further diagnostic tests. This first visit tends to take 45min to an hour.
Your Subsequent Visits
Goal: take action
Once we have your full medical history and completed a thorough examination the subsequent visits will take up to 30mins. Typically the chiropractor will be able to give you a plan on how many adjustments will be needed in your initial phase. This plan may include homework such as exercise, rehabilitation and dietary recommendations.
While many people come to us with obvious injuries as their starting point, it is very satisfying to work with people when they have more subtle issues that are holding them back from going from good to great.
